Excessive trimming can also kill conifers, but due to the amount of conifers that are dying this year, its probably another cause that's already been mentioned. To much moisture.. Most of the Conifers started to die off just after the heavy snows last winter. I think the melting snow absolutely saturated the ground and this was the probable cause... Thanks for replying i've noticed these dying brown patches appearing over at least the last 3 yrs.... so not totally convinced my problem is a over saturation/ water logging issue,.... i hold my hand up... over trinnimg i am surly guilty of, but unforunatly i can't turn the clock back. Is there any product you can recomen to control the Aphids??? Like i say mate, i'm desperate! really don't fancy digging a shite load of these conifers up!!!... leeroy 29 Posted October 24, 2011 Report Share Posted October 24, 2011 A farmer told me its a mite that causes this he also said best way to get rid of it is blast water in there as this kills them off , worth a go I would give them all a good wetting nothing to lose.
