kx100 66
well the other night the keeper i work with took us out lamping from 4x4 it was my pups first proper night on the lamp im not a big fan of lamping from the 4x4 for 2 rerasons one is that the noise of getting on and off the back to slip the dogs and when my dog was chasing a rabbit it ran under the frond number plate and my dog ran straght in to it and bust the plate haha but its a good way if you want to put game in frond of the dogs my dogs had masterd the strike by the end of the night and were starting ti come back once lamp is of but when they are chasing and hi somthing goes under the fence they wouldnt jump and carry on running they would just come back then one of the rabbits came of the field on to a gravel track and when the dog went in for a strike he went tumbling don the road and got cut to bits but hes fine now so were heading back out within the next few nights for some more bunnies Quote Link to post

TOMO 29,272
instead of keep geting the dog out the motor,, when theres a few about let the dog run alongside the motor. you will have more success, rabbit wise Quote Link to post

kx100 66
by the end of the night we were walking along the side of the motor one on each side but they were getting confused as the roof mounted lamp had a really wide beam so it was lighting up bout 7 or 8 bunnies at a time with in 15 yards of the motor so next time were just using the hand held light force to se if the work the lamp better if theres just one single bunnie in the beam at a time Quote Link to post
