Review of a Webley Raider 10 New

Recommended Posts

Hi

New to the forum, had a year of two of shooting, didn’t have the time with my old job.

Just purchased a new Webley raider 10 ( Turkish) so I thought I’d give you all a honest

opinion, I’m no trigger snob or technical master mind when it comes to guns and wanted

to purchase my first PCP. My old gun was a HW77 (old school), for those of you who know

this is a great gun but it’s heavy.

The raider 10 looked a good buy, 10 shot magazines, very efficient silencer good blueing and

felt light in the hand.

I took the gun and a selection of pellets to zero it in with my scope. It was during this that

I learnt that the raider 10 is a very accurate gun, and paired with my scope managed to give me

a good set of grouping with a number of pellets, however with my gun I was getting the best groupings with Bisley magnums.

I appear to get around 50 good shots out of a charge; I am filling it up using a small diver’s bottle. One problem I do tend to find is that the filling prone does tend to leak a bit of air when filling. I replaced the o rings, added grease and a small wrap of PTFE tape below the second O ring before

the nutt and this appears to have helped a lot.

I also found during zeroing the rifle in that the bolt was jamming and the magazine was not indexing itself ( about 2 shots out of 10, I went back to the gun shop who contacted Webley on my behalf who told me how to correct the issue over the phone. The technical term was to stick a screw driver down the back plate and bend the small arm a tiny bit more.

I will be keeping a very close eye on this, as I don’t feel I shouldn’t have had this issue on a brand new rifle when I have not had a good hunt yet. However it now seems to work like a dream and I am happy with my purchase.

This is my first review on the forum, so please be gentle with me.
