Guest tadger
How do you make sloe, blackcurrant - gin ,vodka , brandy?
JoeD 24
Steralise a few bottles (you can buy cheap swing top bottles from lakeland) Place a handful or 2 of sloes into the bottles, I always crush them a little 1st to release the juices, 1/4 fill the bottle(s) with sugar, Top up with gin. Give it a shake, and turn the bottle up and down every day for about 2 weeks. and then leave to stand. Or you could remove the sloes and top up with gin...simply by draining the gin into another container through a sieve, and then re-pouring it into the bottle and topping up with gin. Leave for about a year...if you can resist temptation. Just to add as well....if you are picking the sloes now, then freeze them for a couple of days and this takes away the bitterness. Best of luck with it and I am sure other people have different ways but I find this works best for me. Joe
