Guest oldskool
hi all, the mrs just bought me a navman f20 to help with drivin around n. ireland.... it seems to be a right good piece of kit but the only problem i have with it is that it only has the major roads... it also has the postcode option but it doesnt seem to recognise anything past the 3rd digit???? what and where can you get these downloads i hear about and will they have all the wee country roads i need covering the whole of the north???? Guest oldskool
been lookin on theyre site but i think there isnt much i can do... you can buy cards but i think they only cover 40% of n & s ireland.... i sent a question so i will see what i get back... unfortunatley the mrs says they wont do a return once its been opened ... i think someone said the garmin is the only model worth buyin for this little island
rifleshooter 0
I have the tomtom go 510 and have to say it is spot on full postal code search ,and from what i have seen on the maps it contains major , minor and unclasified roads in ireland used it recently to go to a gunshop down south of england put in the full post code and it took me right outside the door , definitley worth buying a sat nav if you do a bit of traveling
Guest oldskool
told you in a previous post ,the only model that works in northern ireland is the GARMIN .anything else is a waste of money ,ask anyone in HALFORDS .I made same mistake , returned it ,told them it was faulty ,produced reciept ,and was lucky enough to get a refund .Try it . i told the mrs ages ago i was thinkin about gettin a garmin but she decided to get sat nav for a birthday box and when it came the time she had forgotten what model i had told her about and she took the sales man advice instead... which turned out to be shit lol... i'll have a go at returning it and see what happens... god loves a tryer lol.. Guest oldskool
lucky bugger hell of a prize ratkilla!!! mine was got out of argus for £150... we are headin to the oddessy in belfast today and the route is planned to take us to the door... voice guidance too, although the mans voice sounds like Michael Knights Kit lol.... "take the next left michael"... its a great, easy to use piece of kit but i need villages and country roads to make my house calls
Guest oldskool
i told the wee doll in argus yesterday it was faulty and they gave me a full refund... then headed straight to halfords in ballymena and got a garmin c510 delux for £200... typed in my postcode and house number and i landed at my back door although it was trying to take me a longer road because it was at lorry and shorter distance setting... i have got it sorted now and it hasnt made a mistake yet :thumbs-up:
