simonrocco 175
i desided to have another trip out for a few hours this afternoon with the ferret and dogs i gave my nephew a ring to see if he wanted to have a walk out he didnt take much persuading so we set off out about 4.30pm after he'd finished school and headed to a place a few miles from where we live but when we got to the spot there was a building site there i couldnt belive it there used to be a good few rabbits there to but now there building a few houses on the land so a quick change of plans and off to another place that holds a few rabbits we got there and the first set we tried was a 2 hole tree set we netted up and entered the jill but nothing was at home so picked the nets up and moved on to the next we walked down the dyke letting the terrier smell the sets after 3 sets we got a mark on a 5 hole set so we tied the terrier up and i let my nephew put the nets on to let him learn how to net up hes not to bad at doing it but the more experiance he gets the more he will learn anyway we put the jill in and with in a few seconds we heard bumping and then about 30 seconds later a rabbit bolts straight into the net and straight out of the net and away take the stick my nephew got he's only learning so i let him off with that one anyway there was nothing more at home in that set so we picked the nets up and moved on we tried the terrier on a few more holes but no mark then we got a mark on the last set on the dyke a 5 hole set so we netted up and put the jill in it wasnt long before we heard bumping and about a min later the first rabbit pops its head slowly out of a hole right in front of me then it bolted in to the net with the ferret right behid it i despatched that one and replace the net then more bumping and another bolts into one of the nets my nephew laid so he redeems himself from the other set where one got away needles to say he's well chuffed he's caught one in a net that he set. put the net back on and more bumping then the rabbit is about to bolt but comes out slowly where my nephew is at he screams theres one and the rabbit bolts back down the hole only to be located on 4ft we wait a couple of mins and the ferret comes out so we grab it and deside to go home as the light is fading. it was an enjoyable few hours i hope you like the write up heres a few pics.
