THLpatrick 555
Me Mates offered me ferret kits, or a worked ferret, known him for years, anyone got any nice small simple setups and pictures, also a good simple diet, i can only keep one if i keep it simple as tossing the 2 dogs and ferrets around could become tricks, ive owned 3 before in a huge hutch, which coursed pains and i was only 10 so was hard for me, anyway few pictures and advice would be brilliant! Adam_Chuck 256
I have two in a nice size two teir hutch and feed them on dry ferret mix and rabbit when available which should be often once I start getting out more, If your keeping them in a hutch make sure you let them out for a run about and exercise and as for cleaning I do it everyday just to stay on top of it and change the bedding every two days. Ideation 8,217
If you get them get two. As big a run as possible. Feed rabbit or kibble. Fresh water. Clean em out regular. But maybe calm down paddy, you trying to bring on a pup, get an older dog started working, and now ferreting as well, all at the same time. I know your keen, but better to do 1 thing right than 3 things not so right. Maybe use your mates ferrets this season? Quote Link to post

millytheterrier 12
you want at least two, so they can keep each other company and they like to play with each other. (Not in the rude way) lol I feed mine on a good diet of proper ferret biscults and roar meat, chicken wings & legs. also give them an egg now and again. I keep mine in a 3 tier hutch that I made. this is when i first built it, looks a bit tatty now tho. lol MTT. Quote Link to post
THLpatrick 555
I did have a massivee cage and it was brilliant. Then knocked half the side down and its f****d so its getting took down eventually. The ferrets are being offered to me of a mate who ill be out with or two, I've looked after them for friends and owned them was just refreshing. I no it looks over keen but I wudnt do it if I cudnt handle it also I'd be able to return them if they were to much I'm based in liverpool mate Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Doesnt matter how big the cage is their still gonna shit in same corner! Ferrets need lots of space, they cant just live in a small rabbit hutch because you cant be arsed to clean a big hutch. I personally clean everyday. Also putting a kit on its own is not fair IMO. It would need to get out of the cage quite alot for run about. Just saying, not having a go. Mine live in shed and court, theres some pics on here somewhere if you search court or hutch in the search box. As for food, kits want as much raw meat as they will eat, you can also leave dry ferret food down for them aswell. I use woodshavings or woodbased litter in trays and blankets in the sleepbox or plenty of shredded paper. Edited September 6, 2011 by joe14 1 Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
Ferrets are social creatures, keeping them a lone is not good in my opinion! Quote Link to post
