watchman 256
im going to be breaking into the mains for the kennels drainage but am i right in thinking that water from the gutters goes into a different drain than say your kitchen waste pipe if this is the case im guessing i cant use this drain(rain water only) can anyone put me right, idealy the gutter drain would be an easy job for me the main sink drain bit more work or does it have to go into the main sewer pipe if thats whats needed then so be it,just want know where i stand with it,hope this makes sense cheers Edited September 4, 2011 by watchman

Mustard. 83
Dont put in the water pipe it'll end up in a drain The sink one is the same as toilet's,they are connected so bang a T onto that. But you'll have to put a trap on it to stop smell coming back up it. fcuktheban 140
There should be access to the main sewage pipe in your front garden. The only way to get to the drain would be to dig to the nearest toilet or sink pipe. That would be near impossible with the layout of my house since both bathrooms are in the center of the house. If your layout is similar to mine you can either take a pipe around the house to the front or get a septic system. You should be able to run the rain water pipes into the system. dymented 2,220
you will have an inspection chamber on yours or your next doors property bud you need to locate that first to find out witch why the drains fall ect you you can put the drainage pipe in right way as for rain water its normally runs to a soak away and drains away. The kitchen water is classed as dirty water and would run in to the sewer .So yes you could tap in to that remember when putting a drain pipe in you need to add the right amount off fall so it runs with the pipe and things don't just sit there its not a big job .But that depends on how far away the kennels are from the pipe you want to join as the drain you are joining will be at a minimum depth off 2 foot

fcuktheban 140
Now that I think about it the bathroom pipes are located near the exterior walls on either side of the house so you could save a bit of pipe by locating the pipes from the side and connecting to them if your pipes run the same way. watchman 256
i have not got to worry about the rain water drainage from the kennel roofs as they are built up against existing brick shed with gutters and drain already in
fcuktheban 140
You might want to install a vent on the end of the pipe outside the kennel just to be on the safe side and not have to dig anything up later.
