A mixed pot earlier today

Recommended Posts

Afternoon guys and gals well I've had a productive day shootin and it went a bit like this,

It was 5.15 this morning and I decided to drag my ass out of the pit and head off for a few hours pigeoning in the field at the bottom of my garden,I took a bit of coming round as I was up late watching ferreting and ratting/ terrier dvd's. ( by the way thanks Ferretsandhawk's I'll post yours back on Monday mate)

I pre loaded the landrover last night with I'll the gear so I grabbed the broomstick and off I went,by the way my Lanber broke the other day so I have borrowed a fabarm 3 shot,I've never held one of these semi's let alone shot one,I thought mmmm this could be interesting,

On getting to the other side of the field which Is about 50 ish acre I constructed a bit of a hide from a couple of nets and dry grass, not my usual good ones just a fook it type of effort

Anyway I set out a decoy pattern of about 20 shells,a flapper magnet and two bouncers.looked ok as it was still darkish when I did this.

After about 45 mins A few fumbles with loading that Italian shooter I had bagged 6 pigeons a bit slow really,I was thinking I hope this gets better when holy cow the sky went black with crows and rooks they headed straight my direction, head down bang bang, two down rest flew off, continued to drop a few grey and whites for the next hour with a hit one miss one kind of going. I collected the rooks and everytime a group of it's friends flew past I would throw the dead one in a vertical north easterly direction and wow the lot would drop in like stones,I hit a double most times,s mate said try this and yep it works,I finished off with a few more pigeon then the little battery ran flat on the magnet and a tractor came in a field behind and it went dead, I cleared up and chucked the gear in the rover, about three hours work and ended up with a fair to middling bag of dead ones, think it was 34 in total,15 rooks and 19 pigeon, back home for a power nap, enjoyable morning

The o/u in the pic is mr bikal I like to keep a spare with me I wasn't sure how I would get on with the 3 shot, I liked it but it's a bit fiddley to load, but I didn't shoot the other gun so I may try it again one day,

Cheers 223
