Welcome to THL What Rifle are you shooting mate, you have said its .22 is it a springer or PCP. Most of us use a domed head pellet for hunting bunnies. Barrels can be fussy beggers as far as pellets go, if it is a new rifle you have, be sure to pull through the barrel and clean it before anything else really mate. Once the guys know what rifle you have, they can suggest a few pellets to you from past or existing knowledge and trials. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
Ok kool thats a start, i will post a pic of it as it was my fathers rifle and hasnt been fired for many years, its definatly a break barrel spring single shot rifle. ANDYELECTRO 3
Hi Rik mate, welcome to the forum, Just to extend onto what Sweeney has said; for a basic Break Barrel springer for rabbits your best bet is probably a general domed pellet. 'Superdomes' are very popular as they hit quite hard and as a rule are very accurate. Personally I use Air Arms Diablo fields which are a bit of an all rounder/hybrid pellet and RWS Superdomes. The Air Arms are very accurate and fit the barrel really well, they come in both 5.51mm & 5.52mm, the RWS Superdomes are also nice and accurate and pack enough punch to kill most small quarry in one hit. Hope this helps Edited August 18, 2011 by ANDYELECTRO Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Best thing to do before firing it is to get it serviced, make sure all is OK! Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
Yeah a good service is on the cards, thats my first plan to make sure it is all up to scratch as i dont want to mame my quarry as thats not very ethical, good pointers with the pellets i will most probably start with them and do some targets before I charge into the furry friends lol. I am also planning on Restoring the stock with a few ideas i saw on another post so watch this space. Thanks for all your help, i am sure i will get to show off my kills at some point :-) Quote Link to post
