doxhope 2
I have no love for the straight Deerhound/Greyhound 1st or 2nd cross, but I have seen some very good fox slaying Deerhound/collie Greyhound lurchers . Ive got no great love for ANY first cross, all F1`S have to have something else added to them to make them better, and more versatile, but you right on this one Kaney , some deerhound/collie/greyhound lurcher inialate foxes Ive always had dogs of this type of breeding, and Ive never had to stictch a dog yet through taking foxes, the best dog that ever lived in the north east of England was a variation of this cross, all the record numbers of rabbits, hares, deer and foxes taken in the same area, were taken by lurchers of this similar breeding Quote Link to post

Guest Dale
How do these dogs fare pace wise ?? I would imagine they lack instant acceleration and quick gears??? my 1st cross deerhound/greyhound is great on pace , will literaly run all night long , he is a fast dog also is good off the mark , he takes a little while but in top speed amazing i think, i thought the deerhound/collie/greyhound would be same , if not better with pace/stamina .. i have no experinace with this breed just the deerhound/greyhound , so its just my thoughts im commenting on Dale Edited March 12, 2007 by Dale Quote Link to post
