Country Joe 1,411
My Whippet had left a small ammount of his Dinner, which was raw minced Lamb, but i had added Keepers Mix which is a Herbal conditioner For Dogs. Ingredients, Kelp,Celery seeds,Alfalfa,Nettle, Rosemary, psllium Husks,Clivers, and Wild Yam Root. About half an hour after eating the meat, the kits started going bananas, fighting and jumping about the cage, racing after each other, chitering, i have never seen them behave like this, i know they can have a bit of rough and tumble, but this was different, the only thing i can put it down to was the keepers Mix. fcuktheban 140
Mine would go crazy after eating any meat meal, shooting around the enclosure and doing flips. Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
Could have been, just play, but a lot more excitable, and with me looking at some of the ingredients in thekeepers mix, could have had nothing to do with it, as they are now sleeping. Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
Just because something is 'natural' doesn't mean that it can't have strong effects on animals or humans! It could well have been the effect of one of the plants contained in the Mix. Rosemary is a general stimulant, particularly of the digestive system, ditto Wild Yam, Kelp contains over 30 different minerals: do a search for the properties of all the plants contained in Keepers Mix...............maybe the kits were 'high' on feeling great! Also, just because something is grown naturally: i.e. rabbit or lamb, doesn't mean to say that it might not be lacking in some mineral: as this will depend on the quality of the soil and therefore the quality of the plants that animal has eaten during its life.
