B.P.R 2,798
I took my 11 week pup on her first outing yesterday to the jedforest dog show. They are due to be Flead Today. The missus has just been checking her as I had the fronline in my hand and the pup had a load of what I presume are baby ticks. Really tiny things. Checking the lab she has got them too only they're harder to find as her coats a bit longer. I've just frontlined them both as like I said they were due anyway. Is there anything I can do as I know they have got them or just wait and let the Frontline do it's job? Cheers. Lee Quote Link to post
diggermad 154
hi lee are you sure they are ticks mate but if youve frontlined them not a problem they should be gone soon obviously too small to get out with a tick picker ATB charlie Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
I'm not 100% that they are ticks as they are so small but they look like them. I crushed one on my finger nail and it was full of blood? Do they die when the frontline takes hold or do they stay alive when they fall off? Reason I'm Asking is they stay in the house Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
Before a tick has had its meal they look like tiny black crabs. Some say spiders. They sit at the end of long stems of grass etc and wait for their next host to brush past then grab on and crawl about till they find a spot they like to attach and start feeding. It can take several hours of crawling about before they attach tho. When they do it is often around the ears and neck or inside top of the front legs. Frontline should sort them out when they start to feed. Quote Link to post
