HarryWatson 99 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 took the dogs for the early morning walk thought the woods where i live he just cut a silage field ideal for the dogs to have spin about all of a sudden a leveret jumps up the dog see it and you know what happened next it whent down a ravine i followed the two dogs down the ravine at the bottom was a big slurry pit me white dog in it just up to his top of his legs but my big cream dog was in the middle right upto his chest the more he struggled the more he seemed to sink then i started to get abit worried i manage just to get my fingers thought his collar and drag him out you should have seen the state of them they stunk of this black oily like gunge by the time igot back to my motor it had dryed got them home got the bucketes of water out it took me over a hour to clean them what started as great morning nearly ended in dead dog Quote Link to post

fireman 11,482 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 I once went into one myself when out ferreting alone,in up to my waste then i tried to get out,sank up to my chest and was sh*tting it.I just managed to reach a tussock of rush and slowly pull myself out,close call you had there and lucky you could have reached the dog as i myself wouldn't ever go in one after a dog as i know how quickly they can pull you down.
