out on the pushbike running the dog [alsation] couple of mornings ago on the local in the sticks footpaths,,as i do on most mornings.. when in the distance on my usual route, see the dog section van..[it gets better] long story short, but eighteen month ago this dog handler was sat in his van doing paperwork or summat, with his alsation and labrador sniffing about loose five hundred yards away..[nowt wrong with that i thought] anyway sticks mine on lead when his dogs see me and come running at me big time. anyway so i whips the choker of mine, big fight starts with both alsations, lab did,nt wanna no, anyway handler hears commotion jumps out van and starts screaming at his dogs, he eventually gets em under control, after my bitch had seen em off..no apology or anything from him..so gave him bit of stick about older people with dogs etc using this area,, blah blah blah.......

anyway back to other morning.. see,s his van and scan area with bino,s,, see,s what i thought was him in the distance going in opp direction, so carries on past his van with my dog on lead, passes his van were the track does a ninety degree bend, i comes out on the straight and there he is about hundred yards away with two gsd of the lead..knew what was going to happen so jumps of the bike to use as a barrier.. look liked he was looking at his phone/ipod or summat any way i shouted but to no avail cos both his dogs was allready bearing down on me.. he starts screaming at dogs calling them all the effing b,s but to late,there near enough on to to us big fight starts with all three dogs, mine still on lead but doing her utmost ..any way i end up in dyke bottom with pushbike on top of me and disorientated.. he eventually gets em in the van and i give him feck [lost me phone,,[got it back later] bruised fingers and broke front mudguard told him that this time gonna report him he called me a lying b and scarpered never even asked me if i or dog was ok.any way put complaint in but told them i did,nt want him to loose his job ..got a full appology from the big chief but what pisses me of is that you think these people would know better ...but time will tell.. my missus says dont go over there any more but bin doing that area for forty plus years..anyway i just hope this lad can now get it together or next time,,well i dont know..the mind boggles.....

im just back in from having a walk with mine mate,this arsehole with two rotties off the lead roaming free.i seen him,turned round and started walking back the same way i had come.his dogs spot mine(which is never of the lead in that area)and start running up.i shouted hey get them on a f*****g lead.his reply.not got a lead. .he is running uo shouting and the dogs are payng no f*****g attention to him.luckily a rabbit drew thier attention form my dog.im i absouletley pissed off with c**ts who cannot control thier potlickers.i get up at 5am and walk mine and then again as late at night as i can to avoid these arseholes.i just no in the back of my head my dog is gonna get yoked on at some point with these f*****g staffs or rotties.and i swear on my fathers grave i will f*****g stab thier mutts in the f*****g eye.why bthe f**k should i put time money and training into a dog and keep it under control for some mutt to take a chunk out of it and possibly ruin the dog from ever running again.im gonna get flak for this,but i would bring in a law that they should not be allowed off a lead and be muzzled in public.also i would ban anyone under the age of 18 from being out with one.skinny f*****g weak kids with a dog that haulds them round like a rag doll.how any person can get enjoyment from owning such a f*****g waste of space is beyond me.as for the cop he sounds exactly the type of ignorant c**t i have described.sorry for rant mate but i feel passionetly about this subject.

I understand what's going on lads there is alot of people round my way who can't control their aggresive dogs.

It's annoying cos you have to pick your walking spots like it's a f*cking army mission.

I don't mind if aggresive dogs off lead as long as they have a muzzle on but none of the dogs round my way do it is dangerous cos my younger sister sometimes walks the dog with me she is 5 yr old.

where im at the dogs that cause most problems are lurchers and greyhounds,ive known of quite a few small dogs being killed by them,just down the road we had a westie that was best mates with my staff got killed by a greyhound while walking on lead,i own a lurcher myself and dont want them banned or restricted.

 

imo its simple,just keep control of your dog on or off lead if not pay the price.

i wouldnt suggest that a lot of the well trained gun dogs with no inclination to chase anything for example should be on lead and muzzled by law,but fat pet labs are very common too and rarely trained at all so should be on lead in public.

 

I own aggressive dogs but the only accident ive had is when a greyhound attacked my non-aggressive lurcher.

That is appalling, for him to have no control and not to give a damn its a shame you couldnt have recorded the approach of the dogs and his reaction on your phone, i know the mind doesnt work like that when your in a dangerous situation but it would be good to nail him, makes me really angry that they can put a uniform on and think they can do what the hell they like!!!!

my dog is never off the lead in built up areas where dog walkers go."NEVER".for two reasons one there far to many rabbits around and the ground is unsuitable if he gave chase,and the other main reason is what i have described above.Oh and if its a dig at lurcher owners then if it solves the problem then all f*****g dogs should be kept on a lead.however this is not the case,my dog is under control yet the scum bag arseholes with thier staffies let them off the lead to run up to my dog and others.and last night this idiot with his 2 rotties (which incidentally look f*****g ridiculous with thier long tails)and he hadnt even bothered to take a bloody lead with him.yes ive had accidents where greyhounds have attacked other dogs,but yet again the greys were on the lead and the untrained potlickers came running up to them.after me shouting to the owner to get a grip of thier dogs.iys all to common these days and im afraid a lot more dogs are gonna be mauled by these dogs and sadly kids are gonna be mauled aswell.im not saying for one min you cannot control your dogs blan,but you mate are in the minority.the majority of staffie and rottie owneres havent a f*****g clue.

it's a great shame that many of these dicks get their hands on a perfectly good animal and destroy them... never had a problem with my two (strait backed alsation and a border coli) although neither are or have ever been aggressive when off lead, however can be rather defensive when on the lead... both are somewhat passive mind and both where trained.

 

Thankfully the alsation is somewhat typically defensive (big song and dance) to those who she has not confronted before although never aggressive, defiantly makes the usual groups of chav's jog on as well as most other dogs .. the coli is more flighty and practically ignores everything (dogs included) more concerned with the natural herding instinct... be it people sheep, horses ... anything that moves really

 

It's certainly all about the owner and let's face it there are some real dicks out there, takes one night a week while they're growing up and a bit of reinforcement at home.. not much to ask... worked well for my two... couldn't be more pleased with them...

 

Have to say with the alsation it was defiantly worth it, being fairly typical in that they play with their teeth (holding hands, arms etc) it can certainly scare some people.. having been trained early on to release with the typical "off" but immediately to any scream, cry or shouting... defiantly great for with the relatives kids etc... although she is very gentle in general

 

At any rate... as said these dicks shouldn't be allowed dogs if they can't control and or look after them :realmad:

I'm of no doubt that we'll get another if and when (ours being 4 and the coli 5), must say the temperaments are cracking, only downside is the hair malting... though easy solution though: Dyson Pet and wooden/tiled floors

imo it differs area to area,I know the saying gets run into the ground but it really is down to irresponsible owners,the few staff and bull owners around here are mainly hard working mature people who are responsible but theres a lot of lurchers and greyhounds owned by idiots who want to (and are allowed to) chase anything that moves.

 

like i said an old woman just down from me had her westie killed by one,the poor old woman lost her husband and only had the dog for company but she's scared to get another in case the same happens again

 

i have a lurcher myself and wouldnt like to be without one so its not a dig at them or their owners (or greyhounds),maybe the local dickheads where you live own dogs that can intimidate/attack people and dogs and the local dickheads around here (rural area) own dogs that can catch and kill wildlife/stock/birds year round?
