A nice Trout Pike

Lads this fish was taken last summer. I think it was a high twenty, not that I catch many of them.

 

It took a orange roach injected with strawberry flavor oil.

Thanks Danny, the lake is in a place called Blessington, which is in Co. Wicklow. Cracking water that holds really large Pike, but they are a b*****d to catch.

 

The lake also holds a huge head of stocked Trout, hence the large Pike, I caught a four pound Brownie on a smelt one day.

just been reading an article in a coarse fishing magazine they sell over here, they were pitting flavour/colour/oil injected dead baits for pike against normal ones, a larger pike was caught on an injected one, do you find injected dead baits catch more pike?. And why a fruity flavour for a fish that is predatory?.
