Anybody seen any in their area? I thought the were a migrant and only turned up in a few places down south and in the east but this year iv seen some on the edge of the west pennies and some out on the lancashire plain.

They may have been released by someone..i know you do get them further south though..i keep japenese quail and they are a good size and i cant see them doing good in the wild..i have had two escape.. a crow attacked one but luckely i got to it before it killed it..the 2nd one was not so lucky and a crow pecked it to death.

Quite sure these are wild quail mate, the local twitchers have been flocking to see the ones out on the lancs plain. They are quite small, smaller than the domestic jap ones.
