jacko2009 466
Well can I get your opinion on hare coursing preban of course, what age would you start off a dog,is 11 months to young for a dog,I know it might be alright for the bitchs to run them at that age,the fields are only small enough some big,so would you slip him in with another dog,so what age is best to start of a coursing dog. border lad 1,047
The old dog handlers and trainers, would not start there young sapling, dog around 14// 16 months old, bitch about 14 months old this was greyhounds coursing, now Lurchers, again very similar, BUT there was a fellow on here from down CORNWALL he was boasting his bitch, Wispa, was taken those brown fellows with the long ears, at 6 months old, and she was the greatest thing from sliced bread, but she was renowned to Jack, and No one has seen her for some time now,, and the Owner is extremely, economical, with the truth, Quote Link to post

PhilProp 51
Just from my past exp before the ban come in my ideal opinion ways i always tried to wait till atleast 15 to 18 mont but obviously it dont always go lile tht in life anf if the situation arises n its a good spot and dont think itll be a long course i always let mine run them but the main reason i waited was i was running over 50 to 120 acres per single field so was all very long courses and never fancied a young dog running that long but i think if you go of yoyr own dog and know it well you ahould be able to tell when its ready. Good luk n happy hunting Edited July 2, 2011 by PhilProp Quote Link to post
