Problem ferret

Recommended Posts

I have 4 jills who live together 2 are 3 years old and 2 are 4 years old. Three are fine chilled out friendly ferrets and good hunters but one of the younger ones has always been a bit of a pain/manic. It's always a bit hyperactive, it bulleys the others, is difficult to handle, is not a great hunter as it just races around the burry.

None of these is too much on its own but put together is a pain.

Then today the straw that broke the camels back, it bit me properly. It had been getting nippy of late so I had been handling it alot and feeding that vitamin stuff in a tube by hand but when i put my hand to it it checked if i have some grub and when I didn't it bit me full on twice.Blood etc saw finger :censored:

Until now the kids have been able to play with them now i darent let them

Is it worth persavering with the little bugger and putting loads of time and effort into it or should I take more drastic action? (the kids are against this idea). Would I b e able to find a new home for it?

Any ideas out there?

Cheers George

She probably bit you due to hormones mate.

Maybe you could find someone to take her on and give her a whirl.

Put the outcome is probably fairly inevitable.

Maybe give her the start of the season to impress you. . . . .

You say it has been getting nippy of late, is there an underlying reason :hmm: I once had a ferret turned nasty overnight, turned out it was toothache, once tooth was out it was fine again

Thanks guys food for thought there. I'll give her the benefit for the minute with plenty of attention and see what developes.

The biting has come on very quickly perhaps it is something to do with her health.

Cheers George
