best dog for children plus good all rounder for huntin?

whippet/bedlington are a good loyal dog

Id recommend a whippet or a whippet/bedlington cross, my 3 daughters do junour handling all over the UK and my eldist enjoys going out on the farm lamping with our hounds. Heres a pic of my daughter in the south west whippet clubs junour handling team last summer, shes the one in the middle

Most dogs will get on with kids.......IF you bring your kids up to get on with dogs

To be honest I dont think the breed of the dog makes a blind bit of difference, bring it up from pupan show it what it can/cant do and it should be hunkydory

 

I would still think a Beddy/Whippet or Whippet would be best just becuase of the smaller size.

Pure bred whippets have excellent temperaments, and if big numbers are not your thing, these should suit you, most lurchers with deerhound in them also have excellent temperaments, but Ive seen a lot of collie crosses, especially the first cross being shy biters with kids

I have two dog whippets who are very gentle and love kids and strangers. Depends if you like this type of dog. They are very outgoing I can't see any problems so long as the kids are not too rough with them i think they would be good.
