my pup at her first earth

Recommended Posts

Guest busterdog

Every pup i have in my yard run empty earths most mornings, as long as you don't encourage them or get them over excited then i can't see any problems. Mind the earth mine run are totaly wrote off by the farmer who's pulled all the trees down that stood on them, theres only a few feet of tubes left in any direction so no chance of a fox in them.

The older dogs check them as they go along and the pups follow on behind and look out of curiosity, but they soon run on and follow the older dogs off the earth but by then the idea of checking holes is sown in there heads.

a young dog aint going to learn anything from checking and running old unoccupied earths, and the last thing you want to do is praise it for it, your just going to f**k the dog up by doing that and end up with it false marking all the time when its older, get her out on a few rats over the summer then next season let her have a look.
