BULLDOUG 199
Well this thread came on a bit since i last looked Ive found them slow starters the Baccy, but started in trays then potted to 2" pots then on to four" now there in the ground with a pretty hefty root mass, so in theory they should play a little catch up now. I will take the camera to the lotty today and update the thread this evening. There growing in chicken poo enriched soil (approx 18 months old) and any future feed will be Grow organic. The UFO looks fab, i use a 100w enviro light for vegging up, do you know how these UFO's would compare? ATB D

Neither the UFO nor an enviro light will penetrate a canopy like a 250 HPS,try and get a cheap HPS and ballast on E-bay and see the difference within a week Doug

My Bro in law has just said he has a 600w set up Ballast/diomond reflector that i can have for nowt. I would imagine them being a lil costy to run but the 250w sounds more ecnomical. Ive just taken some pics of my G/H Peppers, weve been eating them for a week or so, guess you just cant beat the big bulb in the sky. ATB D
mackem 30,560
600's are a bit overkill for peppers plus you have the associated heat which needs venting/extracting,best get a 250 to be honest The down side with the halide in the sky is its seasonal, indoor lighting means you have 12 months of growing

Always,18/6 is better than 20/4 when I worked in Holland people were experimenting with all sorts of differing light-cycles,but always went back to 18/6 and 12/12 as they are proven to be the most efficient. mackem 30,560
Veg period for chillies?I havent got a clue never grown chillies so far ive keep a plant alive into 3rd season I saw a cannabis plant in the Dronkers "Cannabis castle" in Holland that was purportedly 23 years old having been kept in constant vegetative state for its entire life and used for cuttings,it resembled a massive shrub with a gnarled old trunk like some ancient bonsai tree

mackem 30,560
In the early days of the Cup a mini-bus was laid on for tours of the Castles grow rooms, they had incredible plants,I dont think the public have access to the Castle nowadays or even if its still used as the Dronkers have diversified into Hemp fields in eastern europe and hemp research. ATB D dont quote me on this , id imagine a 600w will b costing £25 ish a week to run(12/12) and a 250 about £7-
