you can beat it mate, just wait till later in the season the nettles would have died back and your jills wont do the dissapearing act killing kits under ground

fair enough,i know what your saying.ive seen you guys talk about it many times on here.two main reason why i continue to try work my ferrets at this time of year is am new and enjoy it plus me and the young ferrets need the experience and two if i continue to pull rabbits from there ill have a good amount of land to work later.

thats my point though mate you wont be pulling many rather you will be killing plenty to ground, you will be missing bolt holes because of the vegetation in turn missing bolting rabbits, anyway doesnt matter to me mate just saying you will certainly find it a lot more productive in the winter

Sounds like you had a good day, and it's always nice to be out.

Thing with not using a collar at this time of year, is it's easy to lose a ferret that comes up under cover and goes for a wander.

Also anything you bolt and miss holes, is gonna be harder to bolt next time.

Apart from that, it's just the digging and the cover that's an issue.

But if needs must and your enjoying it, crack on.
