Pup developing a bit of an attittude

Recommended Posts

Hi just a question and I'd appreciate your thoughts please.

Pup is 8 months old now - good as gold around family, kids, other dogs on walks etcetc. However, with our own dogs she's starting to develop signs of aggression - so to start with this was happening around feeding time and she'd be bullying the others off their food, so now she's fed in the pen with the others out so they can get some peace.

Then she started going for the bull x for no real reason - and more recently having a pop at the mother too. Both older dogs seem to let her get away with it and don't have a go back? Both these dogs could destroy her if they wanted too - The only one who she doesn't bother with is the old terrier - but I think thats just because Jess is too old to be arsed with her now. Its not an every day occurance but I've seen it happening enough to ask for advise.:hmm:

is it just a case of her trying it on and one day the others will have enough and put her in her place - or should I be doing something to intervene now?

Dogs are a pack animal, and there will allways be an Alpha male or female. But !! YOU should be the boss !! That won't stop them having a "pecking order", but they should know who the boss is. My Deer X bitch has developed into the dominant bitch in my kennel, but she still knows I'm the boss !

Cheers.
