gnasher16 31,602
Gnasher should you'd know and have seen pics of his greyhounds but wasn't a known stafford dogman a greyhound trainer once upon a time? Understand trainers know more ect but for me that takes away part of the fun I mean I'd see it as a hobby rather than an investment so I'd rather be hands on than paying money. That said I wouldn't be too clued up on it. Do they greyhounds have keeps like the bulldogs to get them at peak? Didnt quite understand the first part of your post mate sorry....unless a man has a huge amount of land and can afford to raise and lose a decent amount of money without it effecting the day to day running of any kennel establishment he,s best either sticking with the flapping as a hobby or investing in a share of a dog with a trainer. One man and his dog wont get a look in......i would share the odd chat and swap the odd idea or two with the trainer Mick Puzey when he had his outfit going but on the whole no peaking a bulldog is nothing like peaking a greyhound. To be honest since they pulled down Walthamstow Track i lost a lot of interest its a different sport to years ago more money is made in the lounges/restaurants/bars etc these days than on the track....... As regards money,Charlie Lister is the greatest trainer of our times and he,s certainly not a rich man....kind of tells its own story....the reason he has lasted as long as he has is because money was never his motive Edited June 1, 2011 by gnasher16
dare 1,103
A known dogman in the bulls...sure before he got into them he was a greyhound trainer. Sure you know who I mean but not going to stick up names. Don't think greyhounds or any sport should be something you get into for money imo. Its just a bonus too get paid for doing something you love.
dare 1,103
How does it sort of work with the greyhounds then I mean bulldogs you'd want the stamina whilst keeping the strength. Good quality diet and strip the fat by running the greyhound but of course its a lot harder than that. Do they run the dog so many times a week before a show or increase how fast too have the dog run the mill or what? Not something I'm really interested in but just wondering how they would bring a greyhound in condition.

Oh ok i follow now.....the myth that bulldog lads seek advice from greyhound trainers is exactly that.....from what i know its the other way round....if truth be told of course
