Rich91 1
Hi guys, Just thought I'd share a rant and troubles I've had with my HW100. So I bought it on 24/4/11 and I've probably put 1 full power mag through it if that. A few days after I bought it, it died so I took it to my local RFD to get it repaired which I took some umming and arring about whilst I tried to get some money from the seller to cover the cost and being a gentlemen gave me £70. So, just about 1 week later it was fixed, great! They dry fired it in the shop just to show me it was working. Excited I got home and got straight into the garden. I set up some targets to zero the rifle. First shot was about 2 foot low from 25 yards and I thought it can't be out this much. I cranked the scope up but still out by a mile. I stuck a coke can in front of the target, squeezed the trigger and whack.. followed by a tinggg! I inspected the can and it just had a dent, no entrance or exit hole, it had ricocheted off the can. I took 10 more shots at the target and all were withing an inch (I am new to shooting ) so the power was consistant. I took it back to my RFD the next day and they chrono'd it to 0.9 Ft Lbs. So, back it goes again this time they say they will 'fast track' it to the gunsmith as he "should have done a proper job first time". 1 week later I ring up bearing in mind they've told me 3 times in the past they would ring me and failed to do so even to tell me my rifle was ready the first time. I speak to someone and asked it if was ready for collection and the guy told me the rifle has not even gone to the gunsmith yet. He tried to explain the gunsmith comes in every 1-2 weeks to collect/drop off guns. I explained that it had just been in for repair and this was the second time it was to be send off and told him that they said it would be fast tracked and he said he would speak to the boss and ring me back. 3 days later (Today) still no phone call, suprise, suprise. Looks like I will be waiting another couple of weeks before I get the chance to lead up some rabbits. I've recently spoken to a friend who also shoots he has a S200 10 shot conversion and he was telling me where he shoots. He shoots on his land + 2 neighbours combined and they drive round in a 4x4 shooting 3000 acres of land! I near wet myself when he said this and he said we will have to go out shooting one day! This should be an experience considering I use to shoot 3 fields which took 5 minutes to walk round. I will be sure to take a camera and attempt a write up but I would not expect this for a good couple of months as I really want to get to grips with my rifle before I shoot any live quarry whatsoever. Ahh, rant over! ATB, Rich. Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Rich. Sorry to hear of your troubles mate. If the rifle comes back faulty again, do not accept another repair offer, ask for a new rifle, or full refund. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

Hi Bill, I wish I could but I bought it privately but the guy I bought it off paid for the repair so I'm not really out of pocket but really eager to do some shooting! I definately won't be taking anything back to my local RFD for repairs etc. I'm only going to deal with Hull Cartridge now like I should have done in the first place! ATB, Rich. Quote Link to post

Sorry mate I misunderstood your post, I thought you bought it new from the dealer If you have further trouble with the HW100 ( And I really hope you dont )I would reccomend A&M Gunsmiths next time. A few of the lads on here have had their rifles fettled by him, he does a bloody good job too Hope all goes well for you this time around. Bill. Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Well I really hope it gets sorted, mate, that's a bugger... There's an awful lot in the shooting trade that really don't seem to give a toss about their customers, I see this kind of thing time and time again It's good to see you've got the right attitude in that you're going to give youself plenty of range time before going hunting, mate Cheers.
