Ferreting this week.

Recommended Posts

Been out a few times in the half term, the first time I went out we got 4, and a pigeon that we found by a ditch that was injured, dispatched it and the ferrets had it. I was a good day out we only done 2 warrens and no digs- nice and easy and Im only ferreting for sport, no major pest control so it was a nice number to have.

Went out to the same fields a few days later, to do a couple more warrens, only got 2 this time but again no digging so it was all nice and easy going, just how I like it :D It was also nice as we got partically close to a pare of Roe Deer sunbathing in some high grass, not sure what it is about deer, I love watching them.

Then today I went to a mates house in the morning, as we were going to do a couple of warrens at a space laboratory that his mum works at, we can only go with her as she has the keys to get in. Unfortunatly his mum was out for a while so we decided to do the warren at the bottom of his paddock, only got one out of there in the longnet (first time ever using them- the way foward for hedgerows!) but wasnt even expecting that as the warren looked empty. Later on (about 2) his mum got back and we went to the lab, was abit to late to be doing the lot of warrens so we did a easy open one, had 3 out of there and a baby, they were all in young aswel, so I think we will leave that place until next season, looks good though.

I know I never get big bags, you guys get more than all that in a day but I do enjoy it, its just great to be out in the countryside :good:

Sorry no pics, never seem to remember to actually take photos when out and the one I have took, my phone wont let me upload them anymore, cant read usb ore something
