does anybody else do this

also have they had any problems with dog crunching game due to maybe a squirrel biting the dog ???

I take my lurcher shooting with the air gun when I go out ( not often ) and have had no problems. She usually manages to find shot birds or squirrals. It's strange though as she does not always retrive them, yet with rabbits she usually brings them back withing a few meters.

My old beddie cross makes a good gun dog now as his best running days are behind him.the old legs and feet are not what they were but his nose is still first class, this a bonus when roost shooting in semi darkness with thick cover below the trees. As for hard mouth, well considering hes been a good fox dog and now hes too slow for most running quarry he tends to take his frustrations out on shot quarry, wee fecker!!!but i supose it gives him a use in the kennels, keeps him happy and contented, hes served me well as a worker over many years so its fair he gets a bit of fun now in his twilight years

nice one lads

i take my gsd but she is about 6 now.... she will take the quarry out of bushes ect to where i can see it but she hasnt had any training so she dont stay ect....

when i get my pup i think it will be helpful to following the steps on purdys progress such as the blind stay and the "go find em" command as this will be very helpful in this line

cheers
