Beano1456 14
so i have had my bsa lighting for a year or so now and i am really struggling to get along with it partly because its just so damn loud when out in the field with it so i have decided to go for a pcp rifle and my current bsa is mechanicly sound has never let me down so im going to get another bsa and was wondering if anyone else has got either bsa ultra multi-shot or the bsa R-10 mk2 and what they though about it. i am leaning more towards the ultra because of the price difference but i would like to know what you all thought of both the guns. cheers all. pianoman 3,589
Hi Beano. I'm not a pcp man but, I have shot with a very well-sorted BSA R-10 .22 rifle that belongs to one of the top shots here and I liked that very much. I haven't heard anything bad about either rifle so, it's a matter for your personal taste! Simon Quote Link to post
hunterdave 27
had both guns altra very nice gun bit of a pain loading r 10 shit hot much easier to load just pull bolt back and push forward tho a lot heavier must admit the r 10 is for me Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
I have an R10 and an Ultra...although the Ultra is the single shot model. I love both of them very much; the R10 is my favourite, but I'd give the Ultra serious thought too. Quote Link to post
Beano1456 14
cheers guys, i have just been on my local gun shop website and the price difference is a lot less then i originally thought so i am going to do a few more weeks saving and go with the r-10 as it looks alot nicer and more tougher than the ultra. thanks guys Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The ultra needs some practice to get the loading cycle smooth and quiet, and you'll almost certainly double load a few pellets before you get it off pat. There are three different actions needed to unlock the pellet probe, push home the next pellet and then cock the action. The R-10 is much simpler and more difficult to cock up. Having said that, both are tack drivers if your technique is up to it. Quote Link to post
Karpman 44
Hey my father in law and my brother inlaw both bought r10s new about three months ago one has been back to bsa once the other twice firstly a leak secondly some sort of reg problems the father inlaws came back with a note saying it had been cloned! Both guns will be going to john bowkett at some point, makes for a expensive gun though and the ultra has rubbish shot count, the one I tried had around 25 to 30 good shots in .177 My opinions only of course.
