deerhound.1 3 Posted May 17, 2011 Report Share Posted May 17, 2011 i have a litter of 7 there 4weeks and one day old the jill doesnt look as if shes feedin them so i put them round the food bowl and there eatin only one of them have one eye open just wonderin if i should take the jill away from the kits? jackwhippet 3 Posted May 17, 2011 Report Share Posted May 17, 2011 They can eat from 3 wks mate if it's dry then make sure you soak it for them mince any meat up and they won't open their eyes etc until they are 5 ish weeks old. She doesn't want them out of her sight that's why she is dragging them back into the box. Don't separate them it's motherly instinct that's all if she was going to harm them she would have by now and 6weeks is very early to be rehoming them I would wait till at least 8 weeks minimum bud Regards JW Quote Link to post

The one 8,593 Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 You could help the jill out and put a back leg of rabbit etc in the nest box as sevens quite a drain on her .and if you feed them in there she wont drag them about and six weeks is way to early you really should be looking at double that Quote Link to post
