Malt 379
My mate used to have it, wasn't a patch on Sky. I get pissed off with Sky too, but at the end of the day they can charge such extortionate prices because (IMO) their system & set up is head and shoulders above anything else on the market. Not sure if the cable companies can offer a decent alternative though, we haven't got that round here.
Lab 10,979
I remember chatting to a girl in a pub 1 night and after a bit of flirting I asked her back to mine. On the way home she asked if I had cable? I said " no but I've got some nylon rope I can f*****g tie you down wi that!!!!!"...., lol

Malt 379
Little tip for anybody wanting to get good deals with Sky - Threaten to quit/downgrade. I've got all sorts of discounts on my package. Free multiroom, better than half price broadband (connect package), free sky+, etc. I think they've learned that it pays to keep you on as a customer who pays less money, rather than loose your custom all together. It also helps if you get through to an operator who knows the system. When I upgraded to HD a few years back, I asked the fella on the phone to find the cheapest way for me to qualify for the free HD box currently on offer and the cheapest monthly package. I was only on the sky world basic package, and he jigged the packages about to suit. I pay something like £55 a month for everything except the sports channels and a few movie channels. That includes multiroom, (1 extra normal sky+ box in the bedroom) HD & broadband. Another tip if you're paying for the works: Cut back your package to the bare minimum and just add the channels back on you watch. A few folk have been on the same full package for years, (I was) and just pay the bill regardless. They are a lot more flexible these days.
