Sorry but ditch the lead, put a locator on him.

Im not having a dig, but what happened if that lead snapped, and the dog went to ground??

It does happen :thumbs:

 

Hows he bred, cause he is a nice strong stamp of a dog.

Yes good point.i would also be very careful to hold on to that tree,it might pull him down the burrow.

patterdal that is all i know as i rehomed for a centewr and they did not know much about him but they know he was 1yr and he look my eye as i am geting a patterdal bit*h in 8weeks and wont a friend for her i have took him out 3 times on a long line and he is happy to go to earth as i know where fox and badger earths r but i have not let him go to far as i need a tracker for him yet
