nisus nice 0
Hello everyone, I am new on here.. just stumbled across this forum when looking for jobs.. I have just finished a degree and im now looking for any job.. ideally one which harnesses my love for country sports and wildlife (one can dream eh!) I have been into countrysports most of my life. Specifically rabbit control with ferrets, hawks and guns (not all at the same time obviously), ratting, stalking, beating etc etc etc...It is far from just about the killing for me though...for me its alot about the butchering, cooking and of course eating! I am from Yorkshire.. a fabulous place if you have a love and appreciation for the countryside.. Anyhow i shall shushh now.. hello again all Nisus Nice

Different areas of the country vary depending on climate.. Generally the warmer it is the longer the breeding season goes on for and therefore the later the ferreting season starts and the sooner it ends. The 'season' for ferreting generally occurs whilst there are no young rabbits about.. This is the case because firstly you will have the problem of your ferret laying up after eating a belly full of baby bunnies and secondly i dont think its too sporting especially if in an area where vermin control is not the issue and you want to retain the prospect of many a future ferreting trip.. look after the next generation! In yorkshire i finish the season usually around march time depending how mild its been and start again after the first major frosts in october time. hope this helps NN
