Rolfe 2
These tiny Bank Voles probably just a day or so old were found in an irrigation box on the golf course by one of the green keepers. After he had completed his task..........they were returned to the grass nest where hopefully they will survive. They are doing no damage where they are and although they will perhaps join the food chain at some point.........The local Barn Owl population will no doubt be very grateful. That's what happens when you cross a wichetty grub with a baked bean !. Reminds me of when I was a kid and bred pet mice in uncontrollable numbers . Predation took the form of my Mum waiting for me to go to school and then thinning out the pinkies by some means .... Its a neat picture-every bit as interesting as some of the prettier subjects that appear in this section.
