Paid 935
Havent incubated any of these yet, but a friend just gave me 20 fresh turkey eggs, so going to give it a go. Just wondering if anyone has any tips regarding raising turkeys? I've hatch hundreds of chicken/duck and quail eggs over the years, But these are new to me. I'll be using octogon 20's at 37.5,an using brinsea brooders once hatched. So any raising an incubation tips greatly appreciated by those who have.
salclalin 240
I don't use Incubators to Hatch Any eggs. However if you are going to Hatch Turkey Eggs i would also Put a Few Chicken Eggs in the Incubator with Them. The reason for this Turkey Poults are Dull as Feck and don't no how to Feed.Turkey eggs take 28 days to Hatch so put the Chicken Eggs in the Incubator on the 21st Day so they Hatch Together. The Turkey poults will copy the Chicks Feeding. Good Luck. I currently Have A Bantam on Turkey eggs and My Best Turkey hen Laid 12 eggs and then Went Broody Which i didn't really want to Happen as They are Lousy Mothers. Paid 935
Ah, thats a good tip cheers. I'll add a couple of barnvelder eggs on day 7. Do they have any different feeding requirements, apart from having to be taught ?
