NewBarnFerrets 3
Despite my season being over I talked myself into a pest control job for a local vicar. The rabbits were doing untold damage in & around the churchyard......& had even dug around some of the old graves! As it was a weekday I recruited the help of my father. Got to the church & set up. The bury was in a bank covered by a thin layer of bushes. I set up long nets either side of the bank & purse nets over the holes in the open ground.....some of the holes were under & around the headstones I had four ferrets on hand, but decided to only use two at a time & rotate them around so they didn't get too tired. They worked well & we ended up bagging 11 rabbits. Even better I didn't have to dig......which was just as well considering I was in a graveyard The ferrets were all safe & sound & back in their boxes by 2pm & the rabbits went to the local market where they were auctioned today. NewBarnFerrets 3
If we had dug we would have been known as "Burke & Hare" the famous grave robbers:blink: However..If I remember correctly Burke & Hare didn't always wait until the victims were dead! A here is one of the stars of the day... having a chew. & yes...2 of the 11 were young rabbits. Edited March 24, 2011 by NewBarnFerrets Quote Link to post
