secretagentmole 1,701
Ok folks, above is my permission, a combination short airfield and horse paddock area. The permission is the bit that is not blacked out, makes it easier to explain and see where I go. The only cover is in the hedges round the edges (good poetry that), which just happens to be where bugs and co come out to play from. Behind the hedges are drainage ditches, which is where bugs and co have built the shelters. Advice as to when to go hunting for bugs, tactics etc would be greatly welcomed as I have now spent 2 afternoons/evenings in my hide which I erect at the top right corner of the photo. Top left is where I get in, pile of decomposing horse manure at bottom right of photo... Horses are fenced using an electric fencing system that I am allowed to deactivate when I am on the property. Approx length is 1000+feet top right to bottom right. Indicated rabbit runs, all the way along the 3 hedges, plenty of evidence of rabbit activity, scrapes etc, how would you guys tackle this? My last permission in the good old days before rules and regulations had its own built in hide, under the beach houses... Edited February 23, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
Dai Williams 0
Hi Mole If it was my permission i'd take a trip out just for a look at distance with a pair of bino's find out where the rabbits like to go and their runs, then i'd invest or make a Ghiilie suit, get ther few hours before sunset/sunrise and lay in wait in a good spot at a distance you can comfortably shoot at, Scent is a major problem whilst hunting rabbits, Ive heard deodrant, washing powder, smoking etc, can spook a rabbit, so dont wash your hunting gear an use spray go after them smelly Quote Link to post
