i use an old chainsaw. take the plate off the exhaust, then i get a compressed airline fitting, that fits snuggley in the hole that the exhaust fumes come from these cost 2 or 3 quid from a tool shop. then weld the fitting in the hole. and get a piece of radiator hose from a car shop, again couple of quid. then your ready to go. dont be tempted to put more 2 stroke oil in to make the mix richer. it will just foul up the plug. (obviously if you use a chain saw or strimmer, you need to take off the working parts)lol

i used a husqvarna chainsaw, the exhaust smoke all comes out of a half-inch hole so its easy to adapt.

I welded a half-inch threaded nipple to this ,to which i can screw a half inch threaded pipe. This means its easy to take off if i want to use the saw as a saw again.

No point adding extra oil, its the fumes from the burnt fuel that does the work more than any smoke.

My mate made mine. He used a chain saw same as above but also fitted a feed from the chain oil tank, the feed runs into the exhaust pipe into a chamber made by welding 2 washers inside the pipe. We fill the chain oil tank with a mix of old engine oil, diesel and white spirit. Once the exhaust is hot this mix pumped into the chamber makes masses of smoke which is propelled by the exhaust pressure. It works well just need better ground with more rats on it, farms round here dont seem to have many rats!
