air gunner 0
Finally sent of my SGC application and bolted my cabinet to the wall. I know its posted but, for the cambridge constabulary, what are they likely to ask me? I have researched the laws... any that anyone knows that arent blindingly obvious? Quote Link to post

Just be your self no need to worry there's no catch 24 questions. Its a chat to see if your sensible and not likly to go and shot your next door neigbour. Quote Link to post
halamrose 24
Chill out, I found it to be more a matter of listening than talking, take an interest and the FEO will be flattered. Do you know the guys at the country store already? If you get the same guy as I do he is a regular there, and keen on BASC as well, but hadn't heard of Will Garfit who is our local Artist, Conservationist and Pigeon harvester - worth reading his books they are full of local interest and shooting lore. PM me if you want to go on an outing some time. Halam Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,913
Good luck with it mate Quote Link to post
dadioles 68
Your local FEO is a shotgun man, very helpful and friendly. They are not the enemy! you will be fine. As well as The Country Store at Sawston pop in to The Barn Shop outside Bassingbourn, cheaper and friendly. Cambs police are a good bunch, any queries just give them a ring, the only snag is they are slow with post and only use 2nd class to save money, a bit frustrating as that can drag things out a bit but Cambs are still quicker than many forces. halamrose 24
I collected my Explosives Licence because I needed it for BIG EARS at Elsworth, http://www.ears.org.uk/index.shtml. My shotty came from the Barn shop - and I've had at least 2 or 3 bunnies with it so it must be good - or maybe thats pure talent... Quote Link to post
air gunner 0
Cheers lads, yeah I have spoken to the lads in the country store, I get my air rifle pellets from there so am fairly regular. A handy hint about the other shop though cheers, I will most likely be taking up that offer of shooting with you Halamrose. I heard he was a shooting man so thats ideal. Should all go to plan I will let you boys know and hopefully get some pics up of my purchases and results. cheers lads Quote Link to post
Jonophilpott 0
Really dont worry about it like has been said its a case of listening to be honest. When our FLO came to visit me about my SGC i was pooopin myself as i was only 18 but he asked me a few questions and i dont think i answered one correctly and he just told me the answers and explained why etc. etc. For example i remember he asked me: When rough shooting how should you carry the gun whilst walking around... also.. What should i look for when stepping up the the stand at a clay pigeon shoot. I.e. Make sure the person befor you clears up after themselves and so on! Since then ive met him a few times due to moving house etc. Ive yet to meet him next thursdsay to discuss my Firearms Cert. but i feel i can talk to him on a friend to friend basis now. P.s. Dont forget to have the kettle warm Jono Quote Link to post
