ferretman121 1
if the footpath runs throught farmers land they should have there dogs on leads and if they do its the farmers right to shoot the dog Quote Link to post

Col_c88 41
one of my farms is right next to a public footpath but the dog walkers dont use it.. oh no.. they use the farm, and i havnt met one person who is polite when im walking around with my air rifle... theres on pure bitch who actually lets her 2 black labs off the lead when she sees me cos she knows they go belting after rabbits, just to piss me off.. one time they jumped out the bushes, i was so angry i told her there are men who shoot this farm who have shotguns, if they get a shock and arnt experienced they could harm her dog so she should control them.. (i use air rifles) her reply was "i dont agree with hunting!" i told her to move away from the country side and next time keep her dog on a lead cos one day it will grab a rabbit and techincly that dog is now hunting.... she didnt know where to put herself... most of them just ignore me when im polite as can be to them even tho they annoy me! one guy barges past me when i say "good morning" his dog barks so my reply is "at least the dog has manners" best not give them any ammo to go against hunters so biting your lip is the best bet but yes i REALLY do HATE it when they walk on the farm and let there dog run free (farmer wont say nothing as he doesnt want the trouble) Quote Link to post

I had this problem when shooting in a quarry on one of the farms, the footpath runs along the top but they all walk the quarry letting the dogs run wild. I challenged this guy one day and explained that it was private land and should not be on there especially with dogs running in the long grass while I was shooting with the rifle. He told me I wasnt allowed to shoot the rifle on there because of stray rounds, that was just as his two rather large dogs were jumping up at my open window scratching the paint on my disco. I held my cool and asked him to leave, he went of chanting some obsenities and said he would be calling the plod saying I threatened him, what a nob. I swiftly called the farmer and explained the situation and he said I was correct to send him on his way and good job he wasnt there. Quote Link to post
