mole trapper 1,703 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 Ethics dictate you should never take a head shot because of the high risk of blowing the jaw off, however i have done it once or twice, but only when the deer was either facing directly away or towards me. Eitherway hit, or clean miss , ok or a glancing blow, which will be fatal or superficial wound. personally chest shot first choice ,second low neck, head if there is no other choice and its close. Even then i would rather let it go for another day rather than risk it. Quote Link to post
