Its not fancy but the 'method' could be adapted for any nice piece of timber. I got a length of broomstick approx 9" drilled a hole down one end. This was filled with lead and then a plug glued in place. I 'shaped' the opposite end and drilled tho it for a lanyard. Quick coat of varnish job done. Not very pretty but it does the job OK.
