Greetings from Windsor

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just saying 'hi' I am a forum newbie, located in Windsor. Having taken a break from hunting when we immigrated from South Africa 7yrs ago, I haved decided to get back into the sport. I have just bought a Weihrauch .22 HW97 Air rifle, with 4x40 scope, and am happy to be printing 40mm groupings at 30 yards - I thought it was going to take a lot longer to get my eye back in. I know I have more work to do, but given I haven't shot in more than 8 years, and my rifle is still running in, I am pretty chuffed so far.

If anyone has spare capacity or needs assistance (or even some company) on their permissions, I would love to come along.

I haven't started the arduous task of seeking permission myself - I still psyching myself up

In the meantime, good shooting.

Tiger

Piece of advice Tiger Hunter, shooting the little gold and red coloured Tigers with short legs, no tails and upright ears in Windsor Park will probably land you in the Tower of London, her maj does not take kindly to people plugging the Corgis don't you know?

Thanks for the heads-up Mole. Rats!! Gonna need to rethink my shooting plan then.....at least now I know why those men in the green Landrovers kept following me around the Great Park yesterday :D

By the way my mother grew up in Germiston!

Well she must be a wonderful woman - I was born in Germiston :clapping: - what are the odds???? Which part did she grow up in? And when? I had quite a lot of family living there.

Wychwood! 15 Tacoma Road to be precise! She moved there in 1955 and left in 1964 when the troubles started to get bad!

Wow - my in-laws from my first marriage lived round the corner from there! 64 was a bit before my time, but I wouldn;t be surprised if my ex father-in-law knew your mum - back then it was quite a close community in that area.

Yes, the troubles...it's s real pity what has happened to what is a beautiful country :(
