the dugs baws1 36
as we are all law abiding tax payers . i think it,s about time we all new the cost of policing the ban to us the tax payer since the ban took effect . 1. the total man hours spent looking for lads hunting with dogs and cost to us the tax payer . 2 . the total cost for fuel used for cars / helicopters to us the tax payer. 3 . how much time/ man hours has bin wasted looking for lads illegally hunting with dogs without a conviction and the cost to us the tax payer. 4 . the fuel for cars / helicopters that has bin wasted looking for lads illegally hunting with dogs without a conviction and the cost to us the tax payer . 5. the costs to us the tax payer taking lads suspected of illegally hunting with dogs to court without a conviction. can we as tax payers ask for this information to be made public ? FightTheBan 1,147
Think countryside alliance should put some funds into calculating a cost of a year policing the ban. Shouldnt be too much bother, freedom of information etc. Bet it would be a right eye opener. FTB Quote Link to post

I am sure that you would be entitled to access some information regarding it under freedom of information etc.. you may have to pay a nominal amount which is usually about £10. I doubt however that there is an official figure for the cost of policing specifically the ban. Most likely the information you would be given, would relate to something like 'policing the countryside' or something like that and swallowed within more general budgets. If there was an official amount i recon it would be a stupid amount especially with them using helicopters to follow lads around (still cant believe they do that ffs) atb Quote Link to post

chartpolski 28,616
It probably doesn't cost one penny of EXTRA tax payers money to police the Ban ! WHY ??? Because all police costs are budgeted for and any costs that fall in ordinary police time won't make any difference if a cop is sitting on his arse in a cafe or chasing us across fields ! The big extra costs is in overtime, policing demonstrations like the recent student protests, or giving police protection, 24 hours a day to minor royals ! As for helicopters; I've had the b*****ds on me quite a few times, as a few lads on here who have been with me can verify, but it doesn't, (once again), add a penny to police costs, as the crews HAVE TO get their hours in to keep there tickets up to date ! And they don't care if it is harrasing us or joy flights for them !! What annoys me is not the cost, but they could use the time far better chasing burgalars and muggers, etc, than going after blokes who are basicaly doing no harm to any one !!! Cheers.
