Alex Arrigone 24
hey , i myself have MTP available in quite a large quantity as i built up quite a stock pile from my previous tour of afghanistan... i used it for hunting on my permission for a few weeks but found that it wasnt as good as the old DPM clothing. the reason it is used in afghan and has been implemented by the army is due to the light and diverse terrains on the ground in Afghan, but for england, i find the darker DPM works best ..... but everyone to their own. hope this helped! craig7787 0
sorry but i agree with phantom, and not this previous thread "The old DPM is great stuff, one of the better camouflage patterns about at the moment. I don't think that the new pattern will make a great deal of difference in terms of concealment, but it'll look smart, and that's most of what the uniform is about." This is a slightly crazy idea that the MOD have only bought MTP to change there image, When infact it just works alot better in the types of environments that the British forces are operating the the minuite i.e green zone afghanistan. Which it works fantastic. I had a friend try it in the jungle recently who wasnt impressed with it out there, which shows that you have to adapt you cam for whichever environment your operating in. Even though its called Multi Terrain doesnt mean it will be as effective in one terrain, as an other. And as for someone talking about the army spending money during a financial crises, by intoducing MTP, the MOD will save money in the long run, as they will no longer be issueing desserts and DPM, therefore reducing the amount of clothing each soldier needs by 50 percent Quote Link to post

DPM is the way forward for hunting in england, but if your interested in hunting people in afghan the MTP is the stuff to be wearing cheers Quote Link to post

gurtwurz 793
yep, you cant fault DPM or flectarn for english hedgerows, but i think MTP would definitely be worth looking into if we have another prolonged dry period, as the multicam worked quite well in the long dry grass due to the predominant pale greens and yellowy tinges brought on by to much sun on the vegetation. only problem being that its only gonna be any good like that for about a week in the uk... cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
