ghostlyease 17
Due to lack of light on this ACES day we will be doing group running so all dogs must wear muzzles! Now if your dog does not wear a muzzle or you do not wish it to run in a muzzle then your runs will be reduced. We will be doing weight pull lift, group runs and then vertical scale. We can not emphasise enough how important it is for you to get your dog used to wearing a muzzle and owning one yourself, dogs must also have muzzles suitable to run in, Mikki muzzles or similar are not suitable! We will be starting the new groups (below) this year so all dogs will be measured and weighed in when registering, registration will start at 9am and close at 10:30. Pups Runners Mini = 0 - 16.75 inch Midi = 17 - 18.75 inch Maxi = 19 + inch Its worth mentioning the price increase, the days are now £6 and certificates will be handed out to all those that stick around to get awards, please try to bring the right money with you. bullmastiff 615
Going to see if I can get over to this one if I can. My cousin took on one of our pups and only lives about 30mins from the show so we'll see if we can stay with them for the night. For things like the weight pull and vertical scale, what sort of training do you need to do? will we need to bring our own harnesses or can you supply them? Cheers and hope to see you all soon. ghostlyease 17
Regulars have there own stuff but ACES does supply a certain amount of equipment for people that have never been, we dont expect people to turn up with stuff they have never done before. vertical scale is where the dogs climb a wall and we see how far they can jump up and grab, some dogs like this some do not, depends how much they like playing tug really. We will be doing weight pull lift this ACES day, this is a new event we are trying out, we have only done it once before but the dogs do need a harness, we do have a few sizes to lend out if needed. Sorry for bad pic but we ran out of light in Nov when we last did this even, lol Lure racing is in groups this event because of the lack of light so all dogs need to be muzzles, again we have some muzzles to lend out. Feel free to contact me if you want any further info.

ghostlyease 17
Here are my pics from the day, no A-Frame pics as I discovered that the short lens for my camera was broken :'( so only had the long lens to use on the day but here are the pics I did take, enjoy! Id like to ask here people to check their cars and bags ect as one of the muzzles is missing, it is a very distinctive muzzle as it is the blueprint to all the muzzles the Cedar Saddlery now make, it was in chestnut leather and has no rivets in it unlike all other muzzles made after, it is unique! We understand on the day people chuck things away in bags and we are certain it would have been picked up totally by mistake. As people on the day may know we was supposed to do weight pull lift, unfortunately the breaking system to stop the dogs being jerked back did not work as it should so we did not do that event, we will sort it for another day though!!! Group running, I love these group pics!!!! Vertical scale This made me laugh, never seen it done like that before, lol............... The racing was not done for placings so no results were taken, the groups were as follows. Pups Dabba, Shady, H, Sullivan, Sky, Maggie Runners Todd, Pearl, Jal, Hoy, Jay Mini Bens Bella, Ripley, Zoe, Sharons Bella Tips, Diesel, Abbey, Biffa Karma, Rosie, Nina Midi Stamford, Clyde, Busta, Osiris Troop, Poppy, Flo, Dolly Maxi Charlie, Java, Lily (AB) Grace Banksy, Levi, Diego, Quest, Pup A-Frame (overs in 60 seconds) Todd 41 Dolly 36 Banksy 35 Grace 33 Nina 30 Karma 29 Charlie 29 Abbey 28 Flo 27 Pup 26 Zoe 26 Lily (AB) 26 Quest 25 Bella (Sharons) 24 Osiris 24 Diago 23 Levi 22 Diesel 22 Stamford 22 Pearl 21 Bens Bella 21 Tips 21 Poppy 19 Busta 17 Rosie 17 Troop 10 Java 8 Biffa 5 Vertical scale (ft) Dolly 7 1/2 Banksy 7 1/2 Diego 7 1/2 Quest 7 Grace 7 Poppy 7 Lily (AB) 7 Stamford 6 Osiris 6 Shady 6 Tips 5 1/2 Diesel 5 Karma 5 Sharons Bella 5 Busta 5 Rosie

littlefish 596
How does the vertical scale score? Does the dog get marks for the length of time he holds on or does he just have to grab it? How many tried does each dog get? It looks like the dogs enjoyed being there. ghostlyease 17
The vertical scale works by a dog running up the wall, the dog has to grab and hold the toy, we use any toy you like, as long as the dog actually grabs and holds then thats a pass at that height, we move the toy up a foot or 1/2 a foot and do it all over again until the dog does not reach the toy, the dog is given another chance at that height, if they get it then we carry on until it fails twice in a row! We always give the dog one last play after it has failed It is a good day out and the dogs love it!
