How's your week going?

Hell of a week so far went hunting Tues. day with M.C.Hammer and Capps ran a nice one caught him with Blackie, Brownie and Bull. Saw another and the dogs went right and the yote went left in a wash out. During the hunt we talked about calling yotes and slipping the Stags, how it would work, were and other stuff.

By the time I got home it was late and after taking care of the dogs I could hear the coyotes behind the house so I broke out the caller and started in. A minute later I had a set of eyes looking at me at around 50 yards. I had Grill the collie lurcher and sent him just for fun. He blazed out and turned fast back at me an held up about 50 yards away. I went over an found an old culvert at 35 long buried on one end. Put the light top it an saw eyes looking back at me but the culvert was around 10 and I thought this is no coyote. So I went and got Goof my Lakie and put him in and listen till 4am when he finally came out and from what I could tell it was a Red and it was dead as Fred.

 

Got a call from Capps around 10am the next day said lets run one, told him on my way. Walk out side and find my Mule had escaped and was MIA. So I spent the rest of the day looking for him to no avail.

The next morning a few cowboys stopped by an asked me if I was missing a POS Mule? Its over at are ranch eating our grass, consorting with are mares and we dont like free grazers No problem Ill come get him. So got him back in one piece and for that I was thankful.

Went out today again with MC Hammer down to Malta. I had Grill, Gizzy and Kung FU on my side and MC had Blackie, Brownie, Blue Duck and Ace on his. We didnt pull in and had two running and we picked one and went for it. We dumped and we had a small burm that had a 3 strand barb wire laying down at a 30 degree angle that we could not see or the dogs. MCs dogs smashed, flipped and rolled and I though this is bad …..But its getting worse the coyote is in high gear and puts some distance on and makes it out of a nice hay field onto about 1 mile of frozen chisel plow. Through the bionics I just watch the dogs go out of sight and getting out ran. As we pulled up the dogs were in different states of damage, all had their feet run off. Blue Duck tore his Anus [thats right Anus} Ace opened up an unstichble gash were the leg meets the chest. All of them could barely walk. Next one we find makes a fence and runs right into about 200 Angus, we to the truck right through them and put the coyote in what looked like a good spot and dumped my side. Gizzy does a face plant and Fu did a cart Wheel as he crossed a wheel line. Both make ground but now they are on frozen chisel plow and Fu is nipping but not striking and dumping him. Another 100 yards and Gizzy quits, Grill is way way behind and Fu is running but it doesnt matter. MC flys up to the yote as he goes threw a fence and into high grass. I open the gate and he speeds up to the yote I cant see what happens but a few minutes later MC tells me we got him with the Duck. Now all the Stags and Lurcher are properly F ed. We were driving out of the pasture and see one about a ½ trotting along not worried the least. MC says Lets get him with your dogs and I said ok but dump right on top of him. We do and Im getting spanked not for Fu and Grill trying. Gizzy didnt even leave the box and paid for that 15 seconds later. Mc turn the yote with the truck and the yote made wrong turn An Fu rolled him and Grill did me proud and locked on to the throat and didnt let go till it was lights out. I needed him when he was 3 not 8 lol.

good write up mate a lot of lads on here would be horrified at running dogs on ground like that but its a different world over there

Stroller after hitting that fence It gave that coyote enough of a lead to make the chisel plow. Its the same here defently try not to run on that stuff as the dogs feet get torn to bits>
