Malt 379
Maybe a long stretch here, I haven't got a picture but here goes! I was on the way to the tip earlier with the kids, and as we drove past a chicken farm, we saw a BOP fly alongside the car just the other side of the hedge. We got a good look at it, it was slightly smaller than a buzzard & I assumed it was a gos as I have heard they were about round here. I got home, checked a few pictures and it looked nothing like one! It had a slightly forked tail and was a light brown, almost yellowy creamy colour. I then thought red kite, but it was far too light in colour & the tail wasn't as forked as the red kite's I've seen in the past.. It's really got me stumped!
craigyboy 1,274
it sounds to me like it could be the elusive lesser spotted scouse shitehawk,it must of been blown over from liverpool, the easiest way of recognising em is by the way it races you to the tip
Capt Boo 2
Could still be Buzzard......males and females differ in size, plus the colours are variable. From creamy/white to very dark brown. Juvenille Buzzard possibly?

I agree with boo, I'v seen penty of buzzards ranging from very light to almost black on the back, same with the size, you see some real scrawny small ones from time to time. plus a goshawk is more of a slate gray with a more bow'd wing, like a big cock sparrow hawk
Malt 379
Could well be a young buzzard, there's plenty of them round here. What about the forked tail though?
Malt 379
Been looking online all morning to try to find something that looks similar. So far the closest seems to be a red kite.
