Will you start hand loading? if so the .204 would be a good choice. If not go for the .223, purely because there would be more choice in factory ammo.

As for rifle choice you wont really go wrong with any of the big boys, Tikka, Remington, Ruger etc

ive got a custom .204ruger and love it

Its on a Rem 700 Action

The Tikka supervarmints are nice guns.

there was another post , the same as yours back a week ago look their .

i got the same cal as blackbox . the 204 is a cracking round , fast and flat .

mine is the rem in vssf . very accurate only problem with it is the spring mag , just cant get on with it , was thinking of having it changed , put cost about £250 £300 .

I know that rimfire magic do a DM conversion for 700's that use AI mags, might be worth a call. Mine is on a AICS and uses the .223 mags

Its illegal to reload our own rounds over here so it will be all factory stuff unfortunately thanks for the reply

The reason i said about the hand loading is because some .204's can be very fussy, although i think that federal now make factory rounds with the superb 39grn Sierra Blitz Kings.

Hi mate, not so long ago i asked the same question :icon_redface: and had a lot of help And advice from the guys on this forum :victory: anyway i eventually went for the .223, purely because of a greater variation in loads and bullet weights, factory round availability and of course ( being Welsh ) cost :icon_redface: Don,t think Theres a lot of difference in these calibres as a fox round, but due to the fact you won,t be reloading, in my opinion .223 would be best option.Forgot to mention , i use a Howa 1500 series great bit of kit !!

Aye

Used a Tika T3 for a while. Sold it and now use a Parker Hale 1200 safari that cost me 150 quid. Shoots just the same , no less accurate at all. On factory loads I have not seen much difference from many of the different rifles I`ve tried ( might just be me though!)

Oh And my foxing calibre of choice is .243

Thanks very much think i,ll go with the .223 any other recommendations of make to go for would be appreciated and opinions on the t3 supervarmint aswell thanks lads. Was thinking about a .243 but won,t be granted here for fox only and its a bit more trouble getting a deer license thats why i think i,m gonna go for the .223
