niall_b73 41
The Environment Agency is investigating one or two complaints which allegedly involve the two chaps in this picture. They concern pike removal and anglers using a gaff on a Humberside day ticket water, run by a well-known tackle shop. The probe was triggered after a pike angler was told to hand over any fish he caught for sale, before witnessing the men attempting to land one with a gaff. "It's our water and we can do what we want with it," one of the men is said to have responded when challenged. Fans of fishery legislation will know you need a Section 30 to remove fish from a water and sell them to another fishery. Gaffs are also an illegal - not to mention barbaric - means of landing pike. niall_b73 "I can confirm that an incident has been reported to us and we are investigating," an EA spokesman told Pikelines. "That's all we can say at the moment." Edited November 29, 2010 by niall_b73 Quote Link to post
neil r 1,977
What kind of knob uses a gaff these days . Stick the picture up on the p+p forum someone will know the water if not the people. They probably the kind of dullards who think pike eat every single fish unless they are wiped out and they are the reason they struggle to catch Quote Link to post
